World Water Week is the annual focal point for the globe’s water issues and related concerns of international development. It is organized by Stockholm International Water Institute (SIWI). This year, the theme is Water for Sustainable Growth. It is also the 20th jubilee of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize, a competition which brings together some of the brightest young water minds.
130 countries participating
Experts, practitioners, decision-makers, business innovators and young professionals from a range of sectors and countries come to Stockholm from August 28th to September 2nd to network, exchange ideas, foster new thinking and develop solutions to the most pressing water-related challenges of today. In 2015, over 3,300 individuals and close to 300 convening organizations from 130 countries participated in the Week. Functioning as an open and dynamic platform, the World Water Week enables participants to build capacity, form partnerships and review implementation, thereby advancing the world’s water, environment, health, livelihood and poverty reduction agendas.
