30 partners from industry, water utilities, universities and other research institutes work together in the project that started in June 2016 and will be finished in May 2019. With 7.8 mio. € EU funding, 13 demonstration sites in Europe, India and Israel that cover a representative range of regional, climatic, and hydrogeological conditions were built and operated.
In detail, combinations of river bank filtration and several engineered post-treatment processes, the treatment and storage capacity of soil-aquifer systems in combination with engineered pre-treatment systems as well as the combination of constructed wetlands with different pre- or post-treatment processes were examined.

Innovationspreis für Echtzeitmonitoring im Gewässerschutz
Das Projekt „Mehr Wasser für die Aue“ verbindet Gewässerentwicklung mit modernem Echtzeitmonitoring. Dafür wurden wilde-natur.org und der UHV 20 „Untere Oste“ beim niedersächsischen Gewässerwettbewerb „Bach im Fluss 26“ mit dem Innovationspreis ausgezeichnet.
