South African sugarcane survives severe droughts due to better water management

In recent years, South Africa has suffered through some of its worst droughts in history, but sugarcane producers working with the network organization Solidaridad were prepared. Due to the bulk water improvements implemented by the Sustainable Water Fund (FDW), farmers were able to stabilize yield output despite the harsh dryness experienced during the 2016 drought.
