Scientists from international bodies and universities will attend the event to discuss topics including emerging waterborne pollutants and pathogens, epidemiology, microbiology, toxicology, analytical chemistry, risk assessment, water treatment, water hygiene and public health with the candidates. Topics related with the sociological aspects of risk management re also welcome.
The seminar aims at favouring the dialogue between young and internationally recognized senior scientists, between all disciplines contributing to the advancement of water safety. The discussions shall help to identify new research needs to further improve water safety.
PhD students may apply at any step of their PhD, although the preference will be given to works near completion and mature for publication. Young post-doctoral researchers may also apply. Applications should be sent before April 26th, 2019.

Deutschland ist von akutem oder strukturellem Grundwasserstress bedroht
Eine aktuelle Überblicksstudie des Instituts für sozial-ökologische Forschung (ISOE) im Auftrag des Bundes für Umwelt und Naturschutz Deutschland (BUND) zeigt, wo bundesweit Grundwasserstress vorliegt: Demnach ist die Hälfte aller Landkreise und kreisfreien Städte von akutem oder strukturellem Grundwasserstress betroffen, vor allem in Ost-, Nord- und Westdeutschland.
