Albaad Deutschland GmbH, the market leader for moist toilet paper in continental Europe, is using the International Toilet Paper Day on August 26 to raise awareness and make an appeal: "The toilet is not a waste bin", says Albaad Managing Director Wolfgang Tenbusch. At the same time, the company wants to dispel half-truths and myths surrounding its core product: "Moist toilet paper is not to blame for clogging up the sewerage system." The reason is wrongly disposed household and hygiene products.
The role of nanoplastic in marine pollution is greater than assumed
Nanoplastic particles are less than one micrometre in size, but by mass, their share in marine pollution is comparable to that of microplastic. This is the result of a study conducted by scientists from the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research (UFZ) and the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ).
